Stretch film is typically in the form of a wide roll, with widths ranging from tens of centimeters to over a meter. The roll diameter varies depending on the thickness and length. When handling the film by hand, the roll is generally thicker and slightly larger in diameter, making it easier to grip and apply force evenly. Machine-made film, designed for high-speed winding equipment, is thinner and longer, with a compact roll shape for continuous unwinding. Color and transparency are the most obvious appearance characteristics. Most stretch films on the market are transparent or semi-transparent, allowing direct visibility of the packaged goods' outlines and details, facilitating verification of type and quantity-especially important in warehousing, sorting, and logistics inspection. There are also milky white, light blue, or black films made to meet specific needs. Milky white films can reduce the visibility of contents, used for light-blocking or aesthetic packaging; black films reduce the impact of ultraviolet rays on the contents in outdoor applications, while also offering a stable appearance suitable for uniform packaging of industrial equipment. The color is determined by the added masterbatch, ensuring uniform coloring without significantly affecting the film's flexibility.

The edges and cuts of the stretch film are also part of its appearance. Standard stretch film rolls have neat edges and straight cuts, preventing burrs or tears when unwound. This is not only aesthetically pleasing but also ensures smooth and safe winding. Handmade film often features pre-cut edges or easy-tear lines for convenient use, with clean, crisp cuts that maintain the continuity of the overall structure.

Furthermore, the visual impact of thickness variations is noteworthy. Thicker handmade film appears more sturdy and exhibits noticeable stiffness when unwound; ultra-thin machine-made film appears lighter and softer, offering a stronger adherence. Despite thickness differences, good stretch film maintains a uniform color and smooth shape, without noticeable color variations or wrinkles due to localized thickness differences.

The appearance characteristics of stretch film combine advantages such as regular roll shape, smooth surface, uniform color, and transparency. These visual and tactile qualities not only enhance the user experience but also indirectly reflect the material's manufacturing quality and applicability, making it both practical and easily identifiable in the packaging field.
